About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Would love to meet some new people, maybe help out a fellow traveller or two and generally enjoy life
ABOUT ME
I'm a recent graduate from UBC - I took a BA in International Relations with a minor in Spanish. Please don't ask me what I 'plan to do in life' because I don't know. I believe that things happen for a reason, and that when you need something the most, and you're willing to do anything for it, it will appear. I've been 'lucky' most of my life; my family, my friends, my boyfriend, school, work, travel, sports... it sometimes seems too good to be true. I hope that I don't disappoint those who are counting on me, because that would be heartbreak in itself.
I'm planning on returning to Venezuela in Feb'08 to go back to the orphanage that I'll forever be connected to with my heart... I'm doing a massive fundraising effort and will hopefully go back with loads of cash-in-hand to help buy them a new (and MUCH safer) car than the rusty old brown van they have... it'll be a great month away, a spectacular opportunity to see the kids again, a chance for a few of my friends to come with me and see the other side of life, and time enough for me to really do some constructive self-reflection...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed once in Caracas, Venezuela - it was fantastic to know that someone would notice if you didn't come home at night... and I got to meet a friend while sharing the 'couch' (aka, floor!) who I ended up travelling with for almost a month... I've also exchanged a few emails with prospective couches, and have tried my darndest to help surfers out the best I can!
Interests
I love to play volleyball, cook, read (for pleasure, not so much for studying), hang out at the beach, dance, drink (sometimes socially, sometimes in abundance), and generally hang out outdoors. My passions include caring for my loved ones, cooking exceptional meals and drinking exceptional wine, devouring books as quickly as possible, scrapbooking, gardening (vegetables and herbs), and dreaming...
