About Me
G'day!
My name is Callum, a recent university graduate. After completing university I wanted to explore the world a little bit, so I saved up and now here i am, traveling around canada!
I grew up on a farm in rural Australia, so I have a strong inclination to nature, exploring, the value of hard work and the importance of connecting to people.
I'm witty, thoughtful and empathic, which helps me get along well with others and see the world from their point of view.
I think I have already managed to live a pretty interesting life, and I look forward to making it more interesting, having met you! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My most recent trip to Japan with some friends was an extremely enjoyable experience, but I did feel I wasn't able to meet and get to know many locals. It's something I've thought about alot and I feel it was the big downside of the trip.
I'm looking to explore Canada over the coming months (I'm two months into my trip now!), and I don't want to miss out in the same way. I want to take the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, understand more about them, where they come from and what is important to them. When I first got to Canada I gave couch surfers a go, but didnt have any luck, I'm dipping my toes back in. In the meantime I found hitchhiking a great way to meet locals!.
Additionally! I would really love to do camping/hiking.... any recommendations are always appreciated!

Music, Movies, and Books
Definitely a Movie and Books buff, and not restrictive in genre!
Particularly a fan of Sci-fi, fantasy (and as I've gotten older, classics) books. Such as lord of the rings, Eragon, Sword or truth, Ender's game, Snow crash, Altered carbon, do robots dream of electric sheep, Perfume, a picture of dorian grey, etc... etc... etc! (I have actually finished crime and punishment)
Any movie genre works for me! Comedy, romance, action, horror. Especially fond of unusual movies!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my time at university (instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing) I worked in a uni club, building (almost from scratch) a single-seat formula style car.
This was to compete in the national Formula Sports competition.
Over the time I was there, I moved up, eventually being the Project Lead and getting the team ready for our first national competition in over 15 years.
We came second in our category!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I have a unique approach to life and way of looking at things. I love to have deep discussions over everything from science, art, movies, to the state of our world.
I am always interested in learning more about peoples hobbies, interests and passions, as well as sharing mine.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My primary offer is my company (which in my personal opinion is pretty good ;) ), my stories and a helpful hand around the place.
Obviously happy to pay for meals out, go for a drink, or cook something at home!
