About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Play host to interesting characters from around the world and share some of my favourite things about the great city of Melbourne with them

ABOUT ME

i'm fairly addicted to traveling and all its excitements- discovering history, culture, nature, fresh views every day, great people and that elusive sense of common humanity...

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live, i'm a libertarian, see life as an ongoing learning process. Try to have a positive impact upon others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is an opportunity for a refreshingly de-commercialized form of exchange, helps to put oneself in the shoes of other people from around the world and stay fresh to the world

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have heard of others meeting great ppl. and sharing truly memorable times across the global village. My one host in Korea also showed me much kindness

Music, Movies, and Books

il ike reading Noam Chomsky, jo stiglitz, Jeff Sachs, Arundhati Roy, John Pilger. I like all kinds of music- especially classical and invigorating tunes. Recently I've studied the Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi with some interest

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

in 2006 mountain-biked across the 200km route 66 ancient royal road (now an ox-cart trail) in Cambodia (via sambour pre kuk, preah khan- not Angkor, beng mealea and ending at Angkor Wat) and saw some rarely visited, still 'undiscovered' ancient ruins on the way- 2000kms by bike in 5 weeks- true adventure... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

i've studied anapanasati meditation. Also a professional traveller and English Teacher, having worked as a tour leader across Asia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, my spare bicycle, local knowledge, the odd meal
