About Me

Dear Couchsurfers!

My Name is Calvin (28) from Switzerland and I am looking for a nice soul in Brazil to have an amazing time!

While travelling in South America I had my first experiences with Couchsurfing and I love it! It is such a beautiful way to get in contact with locals as well get in contact with other cultures and languages. As well as back in my hometown I am used to sleep many times on couches and the couch and me became good friends ;)

A short review about me. I did an economy school and worked in an office, but I recognized that's not the way I want to spend the next years. So I quite my job and went to Southeast Asia for couple of months. In this time I learned pretty much about myself, that I decided to travel for longer, to learn even more :)
I came back to Switzerland to work and I travelled a little bit around South America and the Westcoast of Europe, but there was always this inner desire to experience more.

Kindness, respect and love for each individual are some values, I try to live on - and 99% it works good, except I‘m hungry, but even then I‘ll be friendly ;) I think the balance in life is important and so i got a really extroverted side, which I love to show but with the years I discover calmness and reflection, what I actually really like.

I‘m really into sports like skating, surfing, climbing, slacklining, biking and hiking in the nature.
music in generall, if it‘s discovering new artists, listening to music or playing it by myself - got my guitar with me, so we can have a jam!
meditation, massage, being in nature and doing yoga - everything that calms my mind.
cooking together and share a good meal.
Talk about life with all his simple and complex forms to learn and teach more about it.

So here I am right now, excited to meet you :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Every music style got something unique. At the moment I get more and more in touch with the music from Brazil like Bossa Nova, Samba and MPB. From Rock to Hip Hop or Classic to Jazz is all welcomed!

One of my favorite books is "Survive in the Danakil desert". It is about a man, who travels with friends through the Danakil desert in Tansania and tells about his experiences. At the moment i like to get to know more about greek mythology, philosophy, feminism, surviving in the wildness, how to use medical herbs and soo much more!

Movies I like: Léon, The Professional, Captain Paradies, Back to the Future I-III.
All kind of movies or documenteries, that learn you something about life or the complexity of our world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ride a motorbike with a dislocated shoulder and spend one of my most memorable nights in an vietnamese hospital.

Living in the forrest of Portugal for couple of weeks and enjoy the simple life.

Helping a friend to build his house in Brazil and live with the locals there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Stay positive, respect every living being and share love!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations, a nice plate of delicious food, helping in cleaning your home, playing guitar and in the end a nice experience, that ends in a good friendship :)
