About Me

(Taking a break from hosting, still reach out to connect if you want to meet up in SF though)

I build camper vans, portable saunas, themed event props, and do a little stagehand work and casual bartending. I love the outdoors, collecting skills, exploring SF, and home improvement. For example, at my place I’ve built a pretty fun space. Home bar, music corner with instruments, outdoor gym, rooftop campsite with a city view and hot tent, home theater game room(s), sheltered BBQ/seating zone with string lights, workshop area with 3D printer, and I plan to build a sauna and a climbing wall next! (& maybe a quail coop & garden)

My housemates share some of those interests. Btw if you want to keep them happy during your visit, some great ideas for optional peace offerings that get used up when we host are beer, wine, coffee, tea, meat for the BBQ, chocolate, fire starters, firewood, propane, candles, AA batteries, cleaning spray, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, laundry supplies, etc. Totally optional, but keeps the good vibes flowing & helps me keep my housemates happy to share the space with my guests. SF rent/utilities is very expensive (it costs each of us over $400/week to be here) so anything helps! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic music taste, I love making 10hr playlists for various vibes/genres, Chill 70’s rock, Woodsy Folk, Modern Garage/Surf/Psych Rock, Groovy Funky shit, Grungy Edgy Urban Darkness, Mellow Electric Desert Sunset, Meaningful Rap, Cowboy Motorcycle Steeze, Global Acoustics, Seasonal Comfy, Island Reggae, etc.

Been diving into Letterboxd app for organizing movies recently, some favs include Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Captain Fantastic, Hunt for the Wildepeople, Coraline, Indiana Jones, Tropic Thunder, Austin Powers, Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean, Waking Life, Avatar, Garden State, Les Miserables, Into the Wild, Dogtown and Z-Boys, Before Sunrise, Perfect Days, Ex Machina, Scream, Holes, Whiplash, Shrek. Excited to find more deep cuts, most of my life I’ve been more focused on music.

Books is an even more neglected art form for me but aside from the few novels I’ve read like The Hobbit, I lean more towards books about topics I find interesting, like ancient cultures, homesteading and survival, patterns and symbols, geometry and music, cosmology and physics, philosophy and wisdom, small business and self improvement, cooking and bartending, history and sci-fi, design and invention. And I’m drawn to books that hold a significant position in history, like The Origin of Species, or The Doors of Perception.
