I used to think travelling was staying in 5-star hotels, partying in the best clubs, seeing the top tourist attractions and being chauffeured around a country by a guide. With age I have developed a new appreciation for travelling. I realised that the best experiences travelling come from building relationships with local people and communities to be fully immersed in local culture.
