ABOUT ME

English raised but Italian-American Dad, Irish/Scottish Mum.

I have two boys, no longer have a wife. I rent rooms in my house (in UK) permanently but have extra room for guests.

PHILOSOPHY

I am extremely liberal in my views. I don't believe prison works. I don't believe drugs should be illegal; I take none because I want none and know they are generally unhealthy.

Therefore I am unhappy with the general trend toward a more restricted society, which increases crime in my view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I liked the meetings and went to events such as sledding, skiing, Table-Tennis in Finland. Less happens where I currently live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just once as a host and having guests at home of course.

Interests

I like to Hike, Bike, Travel. Cinema, Reading and various sports.

I spend a lot of my spare time in UK with my boys of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books like Wild Swans; some autobiographies of people that interest me, Lance Armstrong, Bill Clinton for instance.

I read novels by the likes of Kathy Reichs and Patricia Cornwell.

I love a wide range of movies, from Action to chick flicks.

I watch TV but rarely live, almost all recorded or downloaded. No reality, minimal topical and news. Mostly, procedural crime and programs like '24'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Apart from the given of having children; Climbing Kilimanjaro was wonderful.

The Grand Canyon is amazing to see.

The Giant Sequoias in Kings Canyon are astounding, have to be reached out to and touched to be fully appreciated. They grow a billion times bigger than the seed they start from. A seed, not a cell!

I know a lot about computers, Communications systems like cell-phones etc.

My English is of a high standard in general.

I would like to improve in Spanish particularly.
