CURRENT MISSION
Assist other people on their journeys and enjoying my own. It's the librarian in me.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Georgia, married my high school sweetheart late in life after we'd been married to others and had four kids between us. Now we have four grandkids between us.
I returned to school at age 46 to work on a Ph.D., and managed to finish last year. I'm kind of quiet but pretty opinionated in a polite Southern kind of way.
I love to cook, when I have a chance to, and enjoy local produce. Part of that is wanting to support the farmers in this area. They work harder than I would ever want to, and I'm just happy they're there.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
When my children were in middle school, I decided to take them to England and Scotland. It took almost 2 years to save up for the 3 week long trip, and I'll be forever grateful I had that experience with them - climbing up to Arthur's seat in Edinburgh and to the top of St. Paul's in London. We stayed in youth hostels and took public transportation for almost the entire trip.
I'd only been to Europe once myself and that was to Greece, so this was completely different. I loved finding out that my scatterbrained son was the only one of us who could pack a suitcase, that my daughter was the peacemaker among us.
It made me feel like I could go anywhere or do anything, even though I haven't made it back to Europe since.
Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe
Children's literature maven from perspective that's more cultural studies than purely educational or lit crit, as much as I enjoy those too. My husband and I are both crafters - woodcarving for him, quilting and knitting for me.
