Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to couch surf during part of my travels, will hopefully allow me to meet locals and absorb more of the culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

As well as appreciating most styles of music, I like watching action movies and documentaries, and have a passion for listening to podcasts, audio books and reading articles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that I learnt in life is that you can do anything that you put your mind to. A few years ago I was on an orchestra tour to New Caledonia. We were fortunate enough to be staying at a beach side resort, and in the distance we could see a tiny island. My friends and I sussed it out and discovered that the island was popular day trip spot for tourists. The only offical way to get to the island was via a small boat or we had the option to hire a kayak. My friends and I decided to swim it! As we swam we could see fish, coral and other sea life under the water, and we were also on the look out for sharks! After forty-five minutes of swimming we reached out destination and were greeted with strange looks by the other tourists and staff. After checking out the scenes for a few hours we made the return swim safely back home to the mainland.

We all know that it didn't happen unless it's on Facebook or Instagram yeah? I've managed to find an old photo from this tour where I am proudly showing the island that we swam to. Find it in my profile :)

Appreciating the moments like these are very important to me. I've had many great experiences, and the photos or videos don't capture it like the memory.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope I can cook a meal for you, share some drinks, stories and perhaps give you a little private concert with my instrument. I'm also handy at fixing things, so if you need some small home maintenance or gardening let me know.
