About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet good folk, see new places and have new experiences, and lend a hand to make the world a better place wherever I can!

ABOUT ME

I'm good-natured, easy-going, and make an effort to keep an air of good cheer and respect wherever I go. I love nature and live according to an ethos of environmental stewardship and social good will. I am always looking to lend a hand from pitching in to cook a good meal to share to lending a hand with any sort of project. I see myself and others as native to our Earth and citizens of our world first, and descendants of our nations second. I like to have a good conversation, share a good meal, explore the outdoors, and play and listen to music. This life we have is precious, so let us make the most of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am traveling and looking for good folk who have a place where I may hang my hat for a day or few. I have plenty of friends and family in the Northwest of the USA, and a scattering of friends down both the West and East Coast with extra rooms and couches if you're looking to travel in those areas.

Interests

Bushwalking, learning about new people and places, good conversation, a nice glass of wine. Enjoying life!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked up to a rock outcropping in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon with two friends. We were sitting on the ledge when a bald eagle glided from around the corner, about 10 feet (about 3 meters) below us. When it was directly below us it caught an updraft, passing right in front of a couple arm lengths away. I could see its pupil. It started circling right above our heads, increasing the size of its spiral as well as elevation, eventually banking off toward the river.

Another time I hiked down to a favorite spot of mine on the Sandy River in Oregon in the fall. The coho were coming up the river and as dusk fell he coho started to come up for insects. After about 10 minutes they started jumping clean out of the water, about 2-3 jumps every 5 seconds. I watched this for an hour as the sun set below the horizon and night rose.
