关于我
I don't always wear sunglasses, it's more of a requirement as a result of being ginger..
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
In my opinion the most important element in travelling is the people you meet along the way. Couchsurfing is the best way to enjoy this!
In the past I have stayed in hostels, airbnbs, and tents but this sometimes makes it difficult to have a truly authentic experience. What better way to do it than with knowledgeable people who actually want to host you!
At the moment I am unable to host but hopefully once I'm graduated with my own place I can host people from all over the world and show them around.
兴趣
I enjoy nothing more than being out in the wild country, particularly in the remote Scottish Highlands where I spend all my free weekends, usually in a tent in sub zero temperatures! Recently I've seriously got into cycling but sadly I won't be taking my other half (my bike) with me to live in France!
One of my absolute obsessions is running. The runner's high is so real! Ultra-marathons are the ultimate goal!
I have a huge appreciation for architecture and this steers much of my travel. I love to learn about the history of a city through it's architecture as it quite often has an incredible amount to tell. I find history in general very interesting, any period, any place, it's all good to me!
And obviously traveling, above all, is when I'm happiest. The world is meant to be explored and it's full of incredible people and I want to meet them all. Pity life is so short!

音乐、电影和书籍
Music - little bit of anything and everything but I'm a particular fan of dad rock, especially Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, Steve Miller Band, Dire Straits, R.E.M., ELO.
Books - anything with some sort of historical slant, travel, adventure and running!
Movies - literally everything
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Solo walk 350 miles to the north of Scotland. Just under 4 weeks, 1 very wet Scottish summer + 1 tent with a hole + 1 pair of not very waterproof boots + half my weight in rice = best experience of my life. (I actually shed a tear when I got to the end, but no one was there to see so no shame!)
Completed a similar trip this May where I walked the full length of the Outer Hebrides in 1 week!

I can tell you everything about Scotland. I'm ever so slightly patriotic (but not in the mad nat sense) especially about where to visit, (where to avoid), the best walks, the history, where to eat.
I'm currently learning French as I'm moving to live in Lyon (Sep 8th) for 3 months. Good time if any!
I've been fortunate enough to have travelled to a huge number of countries over the years, so I have lots of stories to tell. South America is the next one so I'm looking for as much info as I can get! I'm only 22 and have a lot to still see and experience so hopefully you can give me some pointers!
