About Me
Most of "me" seems to be covered below. I just graduated from university and am on a year-or-so long trip around the world. Just like everyone else on here I like meeting new people and doing new things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The connections you make with someone in their home are a lot more substantial than when you are both sitting on the common room couch in a hostel. I think one of the best ways to discover a new place is with the help of a local, to find somewhere before the lonely planet does. I haven't been in a position to host since I created this profile, but when I was young we often hosted foreign students who stayed with us whilst they went to summer school to learn English, we were a guardian family to a Ukrainian girl at the local boarding school and I have taken part in 2 week exchanges to Russia. Every time it convinced me more that staying with locals gives the best experiences.
Interests
Anything outdoors is generally a thumbs up, if it raises my pulse its even better and if it involves getting wet I get really excited. I'm aware that sentence is full of innuendo but if you stopped having such a dirty mind you'd realise what I mean is I am into sports generally, but I also love hiking, trekking and camping. Water sports are a real favourite of mine - scuba - and recently free - diving, and underwater hockey. I've also dabbled in windsurfing, sailing and waterpolo. The more I travel the more I find myself looking for things to do rather than see, and often it ends with one of the above

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been told by family and friends that I don't like happy films. It's not strictly true, I love watching something that gets me rolling on the floor with laughter, but I also really enjoy a film that takes some concentration to watch.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a human powered submarine during my last year of university and piloted it at the European International Submarine Races in 2014
I once held my breath for over 4 minutes
What I Can Share with Hosts
