Overview
About Me
Hey, this is Camillo. I am in Italian and I have been living in Manchester, UK over the past few years due to university.
This summer I will be moving in Berlin for a summer internship.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am planning the journey of the life, a 1 year spiritual journey from Lisbon to Nepal. A hitchhiking adventure, that will get me close to where the Buddhist religion was born.
I am planning to spend time in every single EU countries and make my way to Nepal, either via Iran or Russia (I still have to make up my mind about it).
9 months to get to Nepal, where I am planning to live for a short time as a Buddhist monk.
I want to meet experienced travellers and learn from them, their stories, their mistakes.
People who have been told "No, don't do it. This and that will happen to you". Who have done it anyways.
Peole who have lived and are living their dreams.
Thank you.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be a huge music fan, particularly in underground rap and metal music. Today, the music I mostly listen to is the likes of Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, Helen Jane Long, Piano Guys. In general or those artists that work pretty good when you're trying to read or concentrate. I also listen to podcasts. Some of the ones I follow are: The Tim Ferriss Show, Jocko Podcast, Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, The Tony Robbins Podcast. Depending on the topic / guest: The Joe Rogan Experience, GaryVee, and Sam Harris
Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck, Grit by Angela Duckworth and the classic Start With Why by Simon Sinek. Mindset is a great book, because it made me understand that people can change and improve themselves if they really want to. Grit on a similar matter focuses on effort and perseverance as key traits to self-improvement. Start with why is a classic. Everything started from that; (it was actually the first English book I have ever read). I would dig more into each of these 3 books I have mentioned but then I am sure I will end up writing an essay for each.
Some of the authors I follow are: Simon Sinek, John Maxwell, Adam Grant, Carol Dweck, Tim Ferriss, Jocko Willink, Michael Lewis, Ryan Holiday, Dan Ariely, Daniel Kahneman. I have a deep interest in leadership, human motivation, psychology and behavioural economics
I'm a huge Christopher Nolan fan, that guy is a genius. I love everything he has directed. My top three all time movies: The Dark Knight, Inception, The Prestige.
Honourable mentions: Lord of the Rings trilogy, Fight Club, Back to the Future, Taxi Driver, The Wolf of Wall Street.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can teach you all the infamous Italian hand gestures that we have. I will tell you the secret to cook a REAL pizza (I can assure you, it's not what you think lol).
I want to learn as many your language's words/phrases as possible. Learn about your culture, food. Also jokes if you got good ones :)
I will share with you the secret on how to be the most cool (Italian) lad in Manchester. Yes, we hold a inner secret competition every year to elect the best among us ( I'm unbeaten since I've stepped in UK soil)
