ABOUT ME

Retired designer originally from Canada but for past five years have been traveling Europe, Central and South America. Walked the Camino Santiago with my son Andrew, made Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende my home for three years where I rescued a Mexican mutt named Jimmy! Travelled though out Guatemala and Colombia before settling on Ecuador. Friends would say I am loyal.

Sitting in the Statione Centrale in Milano in 1969 a crowd had gathered around a seated diner at the other end of a very long cafeteria. When the man stood up, I was shocked at his image. A huge hulking figure of a man that swayed from side to side as he vanished into the crowd. Many years later I would read that "Eddy Carmel, the last living giant, dies in New York." The article went on to describe how he had spent much of his life travelling in Europe to allow scientists to study his condition....Cretinism.
