ABOUT ME

I Work with Holland America Cruise Lines as a Travel Guide. Some of my lectures include (geology-glaciers, marine mammals and indigenous peoples of the world). I spend my summers working on cruise ships up in Alaska and my winters working in places such as Antarctica, New Zealand, Asia or South America. I am a vegetarian, trying to make a difference in the world and create a positive change. Passionate about the environment and supportive of all races, people, world religion. Believe that we should live a life of self examination (critical thinking-lateral and vertical thinking) and continue to develop our potential in creating a more positive and inclusive world. As a deep ecologist I believe that we are all connected in a web of life and all things have intrinsic value in and of itself. I am in the works of planning an environmental project in India and have pushed the date back and now hope to implement this by new year 2011. Friends, we are all in this together and everything is a system-we built it, we shape it... WE CAN CHANGE IT!

PHILOSOPHY

We as a global community have a choice and determine our global quality of life, we can choose kindness, to eachother and sustainability for future generations. Small things like re-using, reducing and recycling. All of our small efforts result in big collective things. I choose experiences over material possesions but there can be a good balance if we all share and give a little to eachother...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently live and work on cruise ships, so I am unable to offer a couch but I will happily meet up with anyone from the countries that I visit and buy you a coffee and share in great conversations

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have travelled to about 60 countries and some of that time has been hitchhiking and staying with friends or youth hostels. I love nature and camping and have been to many rainbow gatherings and earthy festivals

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Antarctica, is one of my travel highlights sailing on a ship past an ice-berg much bigger than me!

Cruising up the Amazon and spending time in the village of Boca da Valeria.

When I was in grade 12 I travelled and did an exchange in Japan and that was it... totally addicted to travel!
