About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living in Kingston, Ontario
ABOUT ME
I am a single man who has travelled a large part of the world. I continue to do so and have enjoyed the hospitality of others less fortunate on some of these backpacking travels. It is amazing that someone who normally has nothing material like we in the west, is the first person to give you the shirt off their back.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is there to experience. You may try something and hate it but at least you tried it. It give you more more check in the box of life. I believe you cannot be scared to do something if you have never tried it. You can be apprehensive and afraid the 2nd time but only after doing it the first time can you make this decision. You do not have to do crazy and dangerous sports but small steps such as just eating something new that does not look appetizing and you could be surprised.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The opportunity to give back to people the opportunity to stay in a foreign city for free of charge I believe fosters the idea of travel and broadening your horizons. To stay young you have to learn a few new words every week in a foreign language or experience something you would normally not do.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had amazing couch surfers stay with me. Amazing guest and amazing stories to tell.
Interests
I tend to listen to old time rock, blues and folk music,
- reading
- traveling
- music
- backpacking
- sports
- boxing
- rock climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
I usually enjoy non fiction books but I do have a couple of favorite fiction writers. Movies of historical nature or comedies I prefer over Science Fiction but that is all relative. A good movie (even with English subtitles in it) is still a good movie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have done on the backpack curcuit would be climbing Kilamanjaro (Machame Route) and doing the three day trek to Machu Picchu in Peru.
I had a great time as well in Cambodia and Laos. It really put the past in perspective.
Countries I’ve Visited
Cambodia, Egypt, Germany, Israel, Laos, Peru, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey
