I've just lied on the 'Languages I'm Learning' section. I'm hoping that if I write that then maybe it will force me to learn some Spanish.

I am otherwise, an honest person. As you can tell from the above confession.

I'm currently on a quest to wake up from what feels like a long ol' slumber. I've been living in Bristol for the last 6 years- this is a shining star of a city and I'm in love with it but we are on a break.

I don't have any photo's on my phone of just me so I'm the one on the left, next to my best friend who is striking the magnificent power pose.

Interests

Please take me roaming. Everywhere. I love love love unending walks and long horizons. I prefer not to turn back on myself though, I'm not such a big fan of backtracking. Unless its a beach; the rules are always different on a beach.

I also like to roam through words, to wring out the old cliche, getting lost in a book is perfect. All those secret worlds waiting to be discovered! I'm currently on an adventure with Huckleberry Finn and things are looking good.

I'm very open to learning and I love to build and create. I harbor secret desires to become a best selling novelist and have a small collection of very private poems that I would be mortified if anyone ever read. I hope to overcome this.

I'd like to quote my sister now, this is something she said when me and her friend threw her a surprise birthday party that involved enormous amounts of food- "I'm so happy; sharing delicious food and prosecco with all of my favourite people". 'Nuff said.

I also like things with wheels and am partial to the odd crossword. I haven't mastered cryptic yet but I'm working on it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Muuusssicc. Ah, what bliss. Last night I made some firm friends on the dance floor of a San Francisco blues bar. I was out-maneuvered by some surprisingly limber older gentlemen who I suspect are stealth yoga masters. One of them was wearing a flashing necklace proclaiming that he was a Bad Boi. He had an incredible face and when I asked him where his bling was from he produced a flashing Bad Girl necklace from his pocket and let me wear it for 1 photo's worth of time.

My love, Nina Simone, can suit anytime, any place and anyone. I wish I could crawl inside her voice. I think if you could get in you would be able to swim along it.

Generally anything that can entice me onto a dance floor is a winner to me- live bands will always get me there. I like music that makes me feel something, old and new, from John Martyn, Django Reindhart, Billie Holiday, all the way through to all of the house DJ's that I can never remember the names of but am utterly in love with when I'm on the dancefloor with my most favourite crew of friends.

I haven't talked about movies but I like them too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Ok. Although it was a little like hugging a tank, I hugged an orphaned baby Rhino and I think about it often. Ask me anything about Kenya and I can tell you other amazing things whilst sounding like I work for Kenyan tourist promotion.
