About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To listen and to learn.

ABOUT ME

If there is one defining feature of myself it's that I love to learn new things and explore new ideas. My life has been made richer by the wonderful people I have lived with, the communities I have been a part of, and the strangers whose paths I have crossed. I know that sounds like sheer romanticization, but I stand by it. Some of the greatest and most illuminating discussions I've ever had were in the kitchen while preparing a meal or around the dinner table with new and old friends.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is guided by two key concepts: creativity and cooperation.

I believe that all people are inherently creative and, if given the chance, will explore new places, think new ideas, invent new technologies, create new aesthetics, and so on. We have a responsibility as a community of creative individuals to inspire each other to act on creative impulses: to think explore, think, invent, and create.

I also recognize the important role that cooperative living has played in my life. A healthy cooperative is a loving community of individuals who are bound to each other's wellbeing and creates a space where every member's physical, social, and emotional needs are met. At the same time, cooperation provides a unique alternative to the rather destructive models of individualism and consumerism that are prevalent in global society in this era.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I ever experienced was a brief moment of silence as I crossed the street in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Living in such a large city, I found I was never truly alone and at rest—the sounds and the motion of the city never ceased to invade my space. One day as I was crossing the street, however, I noticed for a brief moment that the only sounds I heard were my own footsteps and the wind through the trees. It felt like such a revelatory experience, as brief as it was.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can share:
- How to make homemade sauerkraut and pickles
- How to listen to contemporary classical music
- Tips and tricks for raising backyard chickens

What I want to learn:
- Bicycle maintenance
- Basic sewing (i.e., how to patch my clothes without using duct tape)
- Anything, really! I love to learn!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Haiti, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
