So my life story in a paragraph ... here goes ... grew up in Namibia (Africa) ... moved to New Zealand for 10 years, where I continued growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world (I love NZ if you didn't quite catch that) ... now have moved to Australia after spending some time back in Namibia and my life long dream trip through the States. I believe everything happens for a reason and try see the positive in every situation (not in like a hippy way more in like a "o well shiz happens so what can I learn" kinda way).

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Likes:
Travelling, purple, rugby (ALL BLACKS!), music, concerts, socializing, laughing, travelling, experiencing new things, meeting new people, Taylor Swift (don't judge me), hiking, sunshine, chocolate (!!!!), well most sweet things, emoticons, whiskey, musical theatre (Wicked is by far the most Wicked!), have I said travelling?!

Dislikes:
Snakes, cockroaches, spiders, well bugs and reptiles in general (why the hell did I move to Australia where everything can kill you?!), snoring, orange (the colour not the fruit, well come to think about it I'm not a big fan of the fruit either), olives, sitting next to someone with very bad BO on a long flight.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm still new to this officially but have hosted a few people while living in NZ without realising it was actually a thing ... but from the surfing point of view I love the idea of experiencing places from a local's point of view. I feel you get such a different perspective and although I'm all for doing touristy stuff I love doing things that you'd only do if you lived in that place. And making new friends (that too corny?).

Have recently surfed in San Francisco and LA and loved the experience!

Interests

Travelling (think you might have picked up on that by now), making the most of every day if that's reading a good book, hiking a mountain, having drinks with friends or even just watching waves crash on the beach ... and obviously getting to know my host! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

So yeah I slightly love Taylor Swift (I'm sure to be denied a few couches because of this but hey full disclosure right) ... But to clarify not in a screaming teenager kind of way, more in like I really enjoy her music but I think we could totally be BFF's, bake cookies in her kitchen and talk about boys ... haha just kidding ... maybe ... (I type while listening to T Swift)?! Just so you know I do like a range of other music too ... but if I list it all here what would we talk about when I crash at your place?

Love a good movie or book, any genre. I more love a good TV series ... Breaking Bad, True Detective, HIMYM, Dexter, Orphan Black, Game of Thrones (!!) ... you get the idea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a hard one because what classes as amazing?! Saved someone from a burning building (haven't done that yet but totally on my list), skydived (have done that), climb Mt Everest (not gonna do that) ... but I think the amazing thing I've done is to be brave enough to try and do a million amazing things ... well maybe not a million just a lot!

Some of the cool stuff I've actually done:
- Bungee jumped in Queenstown (NZ)
- Hangliding in the Abel Tasman (NZ)
- Great white shark cage diving in Cape Town (SA)
- White water rafting and sledging in Rotoura (NZ)
- Ab sailed 100m into glow worm caves & black water rafting at the Waitomo Caves (NZ)
- Parasailing in Thailand
- Been to Hobbiton (you need to go, it's amazing)
- Rowed the Orange River as part of a charity trip for disabled kids in Namibia
- Jumped off the Sky Tower in Auckland (NZ)
- Caught some big azzzz fish in the Okavango River in Namibia
- Went bobsledding where they filmed Cool Runnings in Calgary Canada
- Been on the field while the All Blacks do the Haka at the Waikato Stadium (NZ)
- Hot air ballooning in Albuquerque (US)
