Hi! I’m Carina, a 29-year-old traveller and part-time blogger from Ottawa, Canada. My love for adventure began in 2018 during a solo backpacking trip through Europe, and since then, I’ve explored destinations around the globe while sharing my experiences through my blog and photography.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m Couchsurfing to connect with incredible people, experience destinations through the eyes of locals, and create meaningful memories along the way. For me, travel is about more than just seeing new places—it’s about the stories, friendships, and cultural exchanges that make every journey unforgettable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a diverse taste in music, from indie and folk to K-pop and classic rock—whatever fits the vibe of the moment! When it comes to movies, I love anything that sparks the imagination or tells a great story. I’m a fan of Studio Ghibli films, a good K-drama, or really anything trending on Netflix like Squid Games or Stranger Things.

As for books, I really enjoy a good fantasy or romance novel! I've read all sorts of series such as Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Fourth Wing, Eragon, Lord of the Rings, Inkheart, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few amazing things I've done:
- Backpacked across Europe for 3 months
- Been a background actor in a few Hallmark movies
- Made a Christmas EP album called "Love, Carina"
- Went to South Korea for 2 weeks and actually spoke Korean most of the time.
- I have friends that live on every continent (except Antarctica, respectively)

I’d love to share my knowledge of travel, photography, or even some basic culinary skills I’ve picked up along the way. If you’re interested, I can also teach a bit of French or English too. I’m also always eager to learn about local customs, languages, and hidden gems from the places I visit. I’m excited to soak it all in!
