About Me

I'm a pretty easy going, laid back person. Like every other person on here I love to meet people from other cultures.

I'm currently working in childcare and studying Business, but I would love to be a writer one day. I have been lucky enough to have traveled quite a bit already, I've backpacked through Europe, lived and worked in America as an Au pair and camp counselor and done a mission trip in Thailand.
I am currently saving to go to Eastern Europe hopefully in the near future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done the hostel scene before and it's great, but I would like to get the chance to immerse myself more in the local culture and see more than just the main tourist type attractions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything and everything, I love funny stuff like modern family/the office. I'm a big movie nerd, my favorite movies are Jurassic park and the dark knight from the Batman trilogy, favorite book is Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I arrived in Thailand before the rest of my group, promptly gotten lost, had the airport lose my luggage and was by myself and half way to a breakdown. When I finally found my hotel I was tempted to stay in it until they came, especially after hearing so many horror stories about the dangers of the area I was in. But I didn't want to live my life in fear like that, so I ventured out and wandered around the night markets and different places and ended up having an amazing time and meeting some really friendly people, it may not be amazing necessarily but it was a special moment to me, the sense of self and independence you get with solo travel is something you don't get with anything else.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to teach English or about Australian culture. I want to learn about different cultures and am trying to learn French so would love to have help with that.
