I'm a 21 year old student who just graduated from the University of Arizona. I'm finishing up the summer doing biochemistry research before I head out to medical school in the fall.

I met a couple of students from the Netherlands last year who happened to be couchsurfing with my next door neighbor. I love to live frugally, and admire those who travel that way as well. I figured as long as I had an extra couch, I could help some people find a clean, safe place to stay and meet some interesting folks in the process!

I love the biological sciences, which is good because I just finished undergraduate degrees in Physiology as well as Molecular and Cellular Biology.

When I'm not in class or the lab, I love to spend time cycling the numerous paths and roads around Tucson. Mount Lemmon and Gates pass are two of my favorite routes because they get you out of the city and into the desert!

When I get a spare weekend, I love hiking and backpacking. I always keep a bag halfway packed so I can be ready to go in a few minutes' notice.

I also like board games. I enjoy all the typical games
(Settlers, Small World, Risk, etc..) as well as a few of the less well known (here's looking at you Arkham Horror). I've also designed several of my own and keep prototypes of my favorites to spring on unsuspecting potential playtesters.

I'm a big fan of movie soundtracks, musicals and orchestral pieces. My favorite song is probably Across the Stars from Star Wars. I also love oldies rock songs and ballads. Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovie and Bad English are all close to my heart.

I've given my personal movie ranking some serious consideration. As it stands currently:

1. Tangled

2. Whiplash

3. (Four way tie) Memento, The Prestige, Interstellar, Inception

As far as books go, I've read a lot of fantasy fiction thanks to my childhood, but haven't had that much time to read recently. My favorite recent (past few years) reads have been Atlas Shrugged and Dune. I'm trying to pick up a few classics like Dickens and Hemingway, but I haven't made much headway.

It's far short of amazing, but I just celebrated my 365th night sleeping outdoors in my hammock. I usually hang outside in the evening and wake up in the morning to the sunrise. It's quite a way to start your day!

I came here mainly to offer my roof and pullout couch to anyone who wants it. I can't promise I'll be around much during the workday, nor will I be able to chaffeur due to my lack of vehicle, but I can provide a clean house, a kitchen, a place to sleep, WiFi and some pleasant company in the evening.
