About Me

Hey, I am a student from Sweden studying Philosophy, politics and economics abroad in the United Kingdom. I am a social guy who is always looking for the next adventure and cultural shock which I hope to get from Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to meet up with fellow travellers and hopefully get immersed in foreign cultures together in the country we meet, but also to discuss the culture of the person I meet up with. I believe it is a great way to learn more and understand the world but also to challenge my own perspective. I have in the recent past met up with several people from all over the world and I find it rewarding to talk about the similarities and dissimilarities between our countries and background.

Another reason I choose to use Couchsurfing is because I want to travel like a local since I fancy the well hidden gems which the locals go to more than any grand tourist attraction and that is not something one can find in a guidebook too easily. I usually travel alone as well and it is great to have a newfound friend to explore the travel destinations with.

Interests

I enjoy all types of sports but my best I ones are the racquet sports - that is where I shine. Am now playing mostly horse polo and tennis.

Another interest is philosophy, and I enjoy reading and discussing Nietzsche a lot, some would probably say too much.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy most kinds of music, except what is played on the radio due to repetitiveness, but if I shall choose then it would be classical and old school rap. I suppose that if I average those two I will be stuck with radio music anyway.

Some Music:
*Anything by Joe Hisaishi
*Classical with Liszt being my favorite composer.
*G-Eazy
*Alt-J
*ABBA (for obvious reasons)
*Hopsin
*Zara Larsson

Movies/Series:
*Grave of the Fireflies
*Good Will Hunting
*Lord of the Rings
*Monty Python
*Hachi: A Dog's Tale
*Game of Thrones
*Suits
*Jiro: Dreaming of Sushi
*A Beautiful Mind
*It's a Wonderful Life

Books:
*Walden
*Faust
*Lord of the Rings
*Wild Swans
*The Old Man and the Sea
*A River Runs Through It
*Montaigne's Essays
*Three Men in a Boat

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled 6 weeks in Asia with only one backpack weighing 6kg.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the useful language Swedish, and also share a lot of knowledge about Sweden and what our culture is like. I enjoy comparing foreign countries with my own to see the similarities and contrasts between the two. Can also teach tennis or talk about philosophy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot of puns, facts about Sweden, knowledge that you don't need and philosophical discussions.
Most of all I want to share my time, I want to explore the city together and get the local experience; a few people even say that I am fun to hang out with!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Wales
