About Me

Hola! 🦋
Soy Carla, arquitecta chilena.

Hi! 🦋
I'm Carla, a Chilean architect.
I currently work in public policy related to housing and urban planning, but I escape to explore new places whenever I can. I'm fascinated by how people live, how cities evolve, their heritage, and the everyday stories hidden in their corners.

I’ve been lucky to travel through several countries in South America and Europe, and I also lived in France, where I deepened my love for heritage, cheese, and long, lingering conversations after meals. This year, I’ll be living in Paris for six months to continue my studies in heritage and territorial planning.

I consider myself a curious, empathetic, and open-minded person. I love literature, music, and cinema—but above all, painting. It’s my way of processing emotions and connecting with the world. I also really enjoy cooking, taking care of spaces, and—most of all—sharing meaningful or lighthearted conversations, depending on the moment.

I truly enjoy authentic exchanges, and I believe Couchsurfing is a beautiful way to experience them. If we cross paths, I’ll be happy to contribute however I can: from cooking a nice dinner, taking care of your pets, helping around the house, or simply sharing a kind moment in the midst of daily life. 🌷

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to meet new people and experience new places from a local perspective—not just as a tourist. I believe meaningful encounters and shared everyday moments are the most beautiful part of any journey. Couchsurfing feels like a space to build those connections.

Interests

I’m passionate about how cities work and change, and how we inhabit them. I also enjoy expressing myself through painting and spending time in creative environments. I love wandering around with a camera, discovering small cafés, and having deep or spontaneous conversations with people from different backgrounds.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a wide range of music—soul, jazz, RnB, psychedelic rock, neo-soul, neojazz, pop, and indie music are some of my favorites.
In cinema, I love emotionally intense films, well-written dramas, and anything visually poetic.
As for books, I enjoy contemporary literature, poetry, and urban essays.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to learn more about your city and daily life. I'm always happy to share about Latin American culture, architecture, or even teach you how to make a proper Chilean “pebre”.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share some wine and a good conversation. A dinner together is also a great idea! I'm happy to cook, take care of pets or plants, help with house tasks, or simply bring good vibes to your home. I’m a respectful and thoughtful guest who values care and connection.
