Hi! I am Carleen, from Bonn, Germany.
I recently graduated from Uni Bonn in English Literature and Teaching German as a Foreign Language.
Not sure how to write a proper text about myself, so here's a little random information about me:
I can't snap my fingers, I am a lefty, I still write and collect postcards, I love to sing, I love to discuss music (different popular genres from the past 50 years), food is life, I am obsessed with 90s pop culture, I am part Kittitian (if you have never heard about it - this is your chance to either google it now or ask me about it should I have the pleasure of you hosting me! Haha) and part German, and I believe a day without tea is not a good day!

Unfortunately I do not have enough room to host myself, but some day I would love to! Until then, if you're around the area of Cologne (Köln), Bonn or Düsseldorf and need help, or some tips, or just some company... feel free to shoot a message and I'll see what I can do! :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I finally want to stop dreaming about seeing the world and make it into reality - on a budget and with the benefit of meeting locals, maybe you. :) I have thought about couchsurfing for quite some time and it's long overdue giving it a shot.

From Pop, to Rock (Alternative, Indie, Pop-Punk, sometimes Post-Hardcore) to R'n'B I like lotssss of genres as long as I feel it, literally put. If the voice is great, I'll dig it, I am all about voices.

What I have learned in life so far is that when you think you know everything, it turns out, you don't even know half of it - and because there is so much to learn, there is something everyone can teach, whatever it is. I think this goes way beyond the obvious, like languages or knowledge about cultures, history, etc., but rather interpersonal matters, ways of life, seeing things ... I think you get the idea. :)

My minor subject at uni next to English Literature was German as a foreign language, there I learned how to teach German to non-natives. Which sort of makes me a teacher, but it's not a standard teaching degree, as in teaching kids. It focuses more on teaching adults wanting to learn German out of interest, or because they recently moved or plan to move to Germany.
Maybe I can practise some of those skills on a host, if you are interested! Haha

I've been learning French in school back in my teens for about 7 years, but I forgot ridiculous amounts of it, unfortunately. I would love to get back into it, so I can at least hold up a good conversation in French.

Oh and all the spanish words I know come from music so there is much to be done here too, haha!
