Overview
About Me
I first caught the travel bug 5 years ago when I picked up and moved across the country for a summer. Everything that could go wrong on a trip, went wrong. Naturally I was hooked. Since then I've been to nearly every Canadian province, and spent 3 months solo-backpacking across Europe last summer.
I love music, and a huge part of traveling I love is being able to strap a guitar to my back and share my love of music with people all around the world, even if we don't speak the same language, music is a language in its own right.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I was in Scotland last summer, I felt more at home there than I ever have in the place I grew up so I've decided that this summer I will move there on a Youth Mobility Visa. I', on couchsurfing to meet new friends, make connections and have a safe place to sleep while I hunt for an apartment and a job for the first week or two after I arrive.
Interests
By day I'm a frontline health care worker, my main job is to support and provide care for adults with disabilities. I love my work and the challenges it gives me every day. I am also a multi-instrumentalist, part-time music teacher and am a classically trained singer.
My love for cats is second only to my love of music and I volunteer regularly at my local shelter.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music of all kinds but my top favourites are Folk, Opera & 60's/70's rock and roll. I couldn't narrow down the books I love to a favourite, I'm the grand-daughter of a librarian and I'm addicted to reading and buying books. Favourite movies/shows are Crime dramas and sci-fi, anything that meets both those categories is a bonus.
This year I've challenged myself to read 52 books, one a week for the entire year. I'm drastically behind, but always looking for new reading material.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacked alone for 3 months and managed to stay sexy & not get murdered.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love of music, maybe teach them (you?) some true Canadian music, and I make chocolate cupcakes that will melt your teeth (in a good way)
