Heya! I'm Carley, I'm a feminist, a vegan, a beer connoisseur, a music fanatic, and a nature lover. I live my life as kindly as I imagine is possible; I respect my fellow human & non-human animals as well as the planet. I am extremely passionate about this kindness, and as it feels to be overflowing, I am excited to forge a new path this fall as I pursue a Masters in Social Work. I love to surround myself with positive, adventurous and fun-loving comrades, so meeting new friends is always an amazing pleasure! I also strongly believe in the grounding power of gratitude, and I try to be present and thankful in each moment of my day.

I've been living in Montreal for the past eight months (I also studied in Ottawa for five years), but right now I'm in Chicoutimi, Saguenay working on my French and taking a bit of a break from university life.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

My first couchsurfing experiences were this May in Quebec City & Chicoutimi. I had always heard amazing things about the community and now I understand their truth. I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful evenings with two equally kind and warm-hearted hosts. Even despite my slight language barrier, I felt so fortunate that we were able to connect and learn from each other.

I'm spending some time after my studies in Chicoutimi to explore the region and Quebec a bit more. I had no idea that this province was so beautiful, and now that I'm here I hope to make the best of it!

Je suis à Chicoutimi pendant cinq semaines pour la programme Explore (immersion en français à UQAC)! J'ai tellement hâte de rencontre des nouveaux amis et d'explore la région. Après mes etudes (ou peut-être pendant) j'espère de voyager dans la region et voir les parcs nationaux.

*Good conversation- surtout en français. J'aime parler du féminisme, speciesism, mes voyages, du camp d'été, de l'éducation sexuelle, et plus... J'ai une bonne écoute aussi.
*Reading Harry Potter (je suis une vraie fanatique, je suis en train de lire la série en français)
*Le théâtre- j'adore les comedies musicales et j'ai déjà travaillé comme chef du théâtre au camp d'été
*Le français!! J'essaye de profiter de mon temps ici à Québec le plus possible.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I love to completely uproot myself and move somewhere new for a few months or years. I am always planning new adventures and have loved my time living in Ottawa, Nova Scotia, in the Laurentians, Peru, Belize, Montreal, and Lund (Sweden). I can't wait to start again in Toronto this fall!

Sharing meals is my favourite way to get to know new people. I'd love to cook something vegan together and I hope to encourage others to try something new (& plant based!)

I love sharing music with anyone who is interested. I spend a lot of my time listening to many different genres of music and I really enjoy sharing my favourite song or group of the moment with others.

I can share my smile and laughs with my hosts! I am a really positive and bubbly person, and I love to share stories and play games.

I consider myself an expert euchre teacher! Euchre is a 4 person card game for those who love a bit of competition and a new challenge. I've taught euchre to friends all around the world, organized a school tournament, and played with seniors up to 95 years old. I have a lot of patience and it is my pleasure to share this fantastic game with those interested :)
