I am Carline, 26 years. I'm from a small town in the Netherlands called Naarden, in between Amsterdam and Utrecht, and I've recently moved to Genoa, Italy. I'm quite sociable, but can also spend a lot of time on my own - leisure time I mostly spend reading or watching Netflix - and i've finally taken up running again. I like to be active and discover new places when traveling. Although I'm an absolute beginner I do love hiking - or long walks in general. I prefer drinking in bars and having interesting conversations (riddled with bad humor) over dance clubs.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

It's a fantastic way to travel. even if I stay somewhere for a short time (e.g. for a conference) I'd still like to get in touch with locals and see places other than only the big touristic ones. Ideally I'd like to stay with someone who wants to spend some time together, who can show me around town and introduce me to local sights and foods. The CS community has so many lovely and open people, I'd love to meet even more.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

O gosh what I watch/listen to changes all the time, but there are a few constants: Jeff Buckley's Grace is hands-down my favourite album (chills each time), I adore 80's and 90's love-/rock- ballots but also more commercial metal (e.g. disturbed or alter bridge). For movies, I like psychological thrillers and comedies. My favourite comedian is Anthony Jeselnik. I mainly read (political) philosophy books but I want to make more time to read novels (books like Lolita, The Course of Love, Looking for Alaska were among my favourites)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Hike through and sleep in Seven Rila Lakes in Bulgaria. This was also the first time I saw a starry sky in the middle of nowhere and it was so breathtaking
