Hello! My name is Carlos and I'm and artist and arts administrator based in Chicago, where I run a nonprofit community art center and gallery called Chicago Art Department (@chicagoartdept on Insta). I'm an animal and plant enthusiast and a pet parent to a sweet pup and two kitties-Honey, Rogue, and Quentin.

One of my other passions are plants. At CAD, I care for over 200+ plants that make up our community greenhouse area. I also do quite a bit of gardening and I'm currently working to establish a small-scale flower farm in my home garden. Other interests include traveling, aquariums, biking, contemporary art, and cooking.

I would either be traveling with my parter or alone. We share the same interests and really enjoy exploring new places and cultures. I'm originally from Guadalajara and he was born in Elk Rapids. In the summer months you'll find us traveling between Chicago, Michigan and Mexico! Feel free to check out my socials, website, or CAD's social media.
