ABOUT ME

My name is Carlos. I'm from Sevilla and I studied biology and a master in molecular genetics and biotechnology. I work in a research laboratory of plant physiology and biotechnology in my city.

Because of what I studied, I love nature and escape to the forest, to the mountain or to the beach in the weekends. Apart of this I like cycling in my city or somewhere around the city and skating, so that's something I use to do when the weather is appropriate for this :)

About music... I must say that I have really particular likes. I love Mike Oldfield's music, Pink Floyd music, Phil Collins, Genesis, Beatles. Classical music, Rock Music from the 80's and 90's: Scorpions, Europe, White Lion, AC/DC... heavy metal bands such as: Nightwish, Kamelot, Ayreon, Ambeon, Edguy, Avantasia, Dream Theater, Circus Maximus, Rammstein, etc. I don't like the typical and famous bands such as Metallica or Megadeth. As I said I have really particular likes :). In the last year I've started to appreciate post-rock music with bands like Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Blackfield, Riverside, Anathema, and others. I usually dislike "fashion" music, that's why I don't like discos ;) I also play electric guitar and I played in a heavy metal band for 7 years :)

About books I'll just say a name: Isaac Asimov! :D Ok... let's say other books I read from other authors: Lord of the rings, Ender's game, Game of thrones... and authors such as Michael Crichton, Dan Brown, Ken Follet, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, etc.

About languages, I speak Spanish, English, some French (I studied French but nowadays it's so hard to speak for me) and some Polish because of my Erasmus in Poland for 9 months (ale ja mówię troche troche po polsku!). So this is one of the reasons to offer my place whenever it's possible to the couchsurfers and to travel and be hosted by some people :)

I like cooking and I don't mind to prepare some good food (normal food, nothing disgusting such as pig brain or other animals hahaha!!) to my guests. Plus I like showing and sharing what I cook to my guests :)

What else... I love jokes! I think humor is the most important thing in this world. It makes us lose all tensions in our bodies. Anyway, if you feel some tension in your muscles because of your backpack, I don't mind to combine the laugh with a massage. I like giving them if my guests ask it to me :) And... I like juggling too.

Movies?? Marvel marvel marvel marvel!! hahaha! Ok... Batman and Superman too. Inception, Back to the future, Jurassic park, Star wars, Star trek, Transformers, Lord of the rings, Ace Ventura and other Jim Carrey's movies, other funny movies... I specially like action and adventure and humor in movies :)

Finally I'd like to say that I don't smoke and I don't have drugs and I rather prefer to host non-smoking people at home (although they can be really really respectful with this topic).

I hosted some people at home and it was a really positive experience. Also I met some people in Sevilla to walk arround and show them the city and practice languages, eat in some good places, etc :)
