Overview
About Me
After 31 years, I have recently retired as a 911 dispatcher. I am fulfilling a lifelong dream and traveling the world! I am blogging as I go and my website is www.cloudtrails.net.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am traveling on a budget and couch surfing will allow me to extend how far I can go. I also don't want to see a country through a hotel room window. It's so different when you interact with someone who lives there: hearing their stories, their views and their recommendations. Years ago I was befriended by a couple in France who insisted I stay on their couch. To this day that interaction is one of my strongest and happiest memories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Very eclectic taste in music. My library has everything from Edith Piaf to Tool.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been fortunate to have been a part of the "chain of survival" several times in my career; telling callers how to perform CPR until the paramedics could arrive, with a successful resuscitation. I have also walked callers through childbirth instructions. Nothing like hearing that first cry through the telephone!
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't think you would be on this site unless you understood the value of travel, of interacting with others from far away places and how that opens up your mind. I tasted that in my twenties and I cannot wait to experience it again in my fifties!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Information about Alaska, stories about public safety, and a pretty tasty omelet.
