About Me

I was born and raised in Spain, but since the end of 2020 I have been taking part in a teaching programme here in Warsaw, where I work in a secondary school with lovely art students that always surprise me with their immense creativity and approach to life. I love seeing their potential, guiding them and seeing how they evolve. It's being a very enriching experience so far, as every day is pretty much a new adventure, and I am very happy to be here despite the sometimes overwhelming lack of sun and blueness.

I started traveling before university because at the time I was suffering a terrible depression and needed to change the scene at all costs. Back then I stayed in different parts of Europe for three years, where I worked as a waitress, postman, bartender and other random jobs. Then I went back home a lot more mature and stable and studied what I'm passionate about. Since I love learning stuff, I have always been involved in all types of things, like improv, ceramics, dancing, languages...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started using CS because it gives you the opportunity to meet local people who are happy to share their culture, discuss things and explore the world with you. It´s beautiful to be part of another person´s life for a bit or maybe for a longer time. I absolutely love listening to life journeys.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I trained the art of clowning to give voice to my inner child and I benefit greatly from it.
- My Erasmus year in Reykjavik was unforgettable: running to catch the northern lights at 3am, dancing in a club with Björk, going around the island with a Basque guy who at a petrol station offered to give us a "lift", stories about dwarfs and other curious creatures, the best cinnamon rolls I have ever tried, knitting scarves for all my family, Erasmus house parties...
- Hitchhiking across Ireland while volunteering and working there.
- Teaching my language and culture abroad is being a life changing experience.
- I played the second violin in a little orquestra till 2013. One day I will get back to my violin!
- While working at the Museo Reina Sofía, I studied Artistic photography and learned to develop my own films in the darkroom.
- I have had conversations in three or even four different languages (although not with the same fluency!).
- I witnessed the birth of a baby cow called Giorgio and fed him afterwards.
- A good bunch of workaway experiences where I milked cows, made ricotta, walked dogs, did some gardening and looked after horses.
- I did a couple of Interrail trips around Scandinavia and then around central Europe where I pretty much slept on trains and train stations cos of the very low budget unless someone offered to host me.
