Overview
About Me
I grew up in Europe and came to the States after high school. Then I went to college in California and spent the next 15 years in research. In 2014, after a few pivotal life events, I quit my day job and I've never been happier.
I'm back in Florida for now. I'm a freelance writer/photographer and a part time traveler.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel. It's my passion. And I like to meet the people who live in the countries I visit. I friend of mine convinced me recently to create a profile. I'm less interested in myself so the parts about myself have been slow coming.
Music, Movies, and Books
Reading is my favorite past time after traveling. I just finished "Writing Down the Bones" and "10 Maps that Changed the World".
My all-time favorite book is Song of The Exile by Kianna Davenport. Other fiction includes Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch and Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone.
My favorite movies are the The Big Blue, Casablanca, and The Fog (the original one). I haven't watched any of those in a long while, just haven't got the time.
I'm not picky about music, except I don't enjoy rap or opera (unless I'm at the opera). Otherwise, I like rock, bluegrass, blues, folk, lounge, new country, oh, and IZ!!!! (That's Israel Kamakawiwo'ole)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favorite memory is working in Antarctica. I wish I could think of more amazing things that I've done but that one probably counts...
Teach, Learn, Share
My love for science, nature, the environment, National Parks in the US, deserts, writing, photography, travel stories...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't know yet but I'll come back to this when I figure it out.
