About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all because I like to do something for me but especially for others. So I would start by:
- To test myself in a completely new situation
- To make my contribution to a project in which I believe
- To discover a different culture from that of origin
- To make a change in my life; I like to explore, expand my horizons, look for the light while dipping toes in the dark, write to the world, and constantly expand my networks of close friends all over the world

Today individualism is regarded as normal attitude and powered by technology.
If I look around I see often people who do not communicate, people who are close sessions, but playing with the phone. All of these habits lead us to think only of ourselves. The system takes this, only people who do not communicate ..and that's why I think we must start from the principle, so we have to learn that the key to happiness is to choose the altruism.

Interests

WHY EVS WITH YOUNG?
First of all because decide to engage for free others may make a change in life, both in the workplace and personal and also to give an example to the kids. The new generations have to learn the value of gratuity, and we can contribute to this teaching. Doing voluntary work with young people, especially with children, we can help improve their future practice; those who receive free help is then much more inclined to do something for others, as an adult.

- I like to be creative and stimulate manual dexterity and expressiveness of children, I have no TV, no video games or use other technology, but I read story and listen to their stories.
- One has to make with the children, experience planting. This is a relaxing activity, original and to be repeated every time you get the change of season. In fact, materials such as soil encourages socialization and love for nature.

- Another very important activity is the CAPOEIRA done with my teacher. We organized workshops with children and noticed that the capoeira helps overcome very limits ... the fight is seen as a game..Capoeira in fact involved the children in activities such as dance, music and singing teaching Afro-Brazilian rhythms and keeping them united in groups. Capoeira is not limited to only engage children but also their parents and grandparents who follow the children during their activities by singing and clapping.

- In fact, last summer I was in Turkey in an art camp and here we organized painting workshops in a forest, painting in nature. This place was abandoned after the war, it is called Kayakoy and I was there mainly because I had to study for my thesis an abandoned Orthodox church. Kayakoy is an abandoned tourist town but then, with the few remaining inhabitants have organized meetings between local children and germans children putting them to the test in the sport such as the relay or organizing football games. All this in the nature. Our goal is the knowledge of the landscape, the territory in which children and young people live daily, with a specific geographical, historical and cultural ... education observation.
In fact, I have some drawings made by me but colored by the children; these designs relate to the architectural permanences as the church, a symbol of peace between Muslims and Orthodox when Greeks and Turks lived together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Paragliding
Paragliding is an adventure sport where a person glides through the air using a wide canopy, a fabric wing that’s made up of a large number of interconnected cells. I was in Oludeniz, in Turkey, I've seen people flying over me so I decided to do it.

Throughout the flight, I was feeling pure joy and ecstasy. It was incredible looking down from my seat, seeing myself float above Earth (with Ian behind me), suspended by nothing but a canopy and a harness.

In the meantime, everyone below — cars, people, restaurant waiters, fellow paragliders, etc. — was going about their own routine, without a care in the world, without even knowing that I was up there flying and having the time of my life.

Being up in the air, flying in the glider, made me feel tiny. It made the world feel tiny, given that everything (and everyone) was just beneath my feet. It also made my problems, concerns, and thoughts seem tiny. Up there in the sky, nothing matters. All you experience is purity and serenity.

I personally think that extreme sports like paragliding or skydiving is something that all of you should try at least once in their lifetime. It’ll tingle your worldview and your senses after you do it. After all, when you’ve just spent the last few minutes of your life suspended hundreds of meters above ground and seeing the world pass you by, you can’t help but have some perspective shift in terms of how you see things, even if unconsciously.
