Hello! I'm Carmen, from the petite country of the Netherlands. I was born and am still living in Amsterdam, which I love! I reccommend everyone to come here and cycle though the city with me. This year I'm taking a gap year and I went to Cuba for 2 months with a friend. This was an incredible experience, I loved the old houses and the fact that time has not moved in that country. After that I went on an central/eastern european interrail, all by myself. This was super nice to experience! I am a barista, babysitter, salsa dancer (in the learning process...), hobby cyclist and a bit of a day dreamer.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Because I want to see the world through the eyes of the locals and make friends around the globe. And because I really love the concept. People helping each other out and being able to travel easily.

Dancing on old hits, cycling (obviously, I'm a dutchie), spending full days in a flea market, reading, movies, beer, traveling, parties, cooking, salsa dancing, days in nature, coffee, picknicking with friends, avocado and searching the web for my dream house.

I'm kindof into cheesy/drama movies, but like some action or detective/crime from time to time.
My favourite books at the moment are The Perfume, The World According To Garp, And The Mountains Echoed.

All that's to it is to do it.

That's my motto and, although I sometimes find it hard to keep it, people tell me I act like it. Most of the time I try to push myself out of my comfort zone. Thats one of the things I'd like to teach fellow CS'ers, to just do the things you like to. I allways tell myself when I'm in a situation of doubt: if I don't do this NOW, I will allways wonder what it would have been like. At the end of your life, you will regret the things you didn't do, not the things you did do.

I can share great dutch candies with you and stories from Amsterdam and my previous travels. I also love hearing your life and travel stories, maybe over a nice, together cooked, meal. I like a good conversation and if you are visiting me I can take you out to my favourite bar, with my friends.
