Présentation
À propos de moi
I am pretty much a hippie who showers. I'm anticonsumerism but I don't berate people for buying things. Hopefully I will be able to work for a non-profit organization someday - I know it's idealistic but I have seen a lot of societal problems, many times literally in my back alley, and I want to do SOMETHING about it.
I try to live according to two sayings:
Vita brevis, ars longa.
Life is beautiful.
I was the opposite of this before - highly responsible and everything I did was for a long term plan (in my teen years of all times). I shifted away from that and I am much happier.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I was bitten by the travel bug after a 5 week visit to Japan in 2013 for a student group - the culture, the people, and the food were all amazing. I think what made the trip was staying at the apartments of different students which let me bond with people a lot more than I would have otherwise.
I tried doing something similar through couchsurfing in Montreal with a friend who liked it and the people I met were also awesome! It's pretty hard to meet 2 people from Mexico and 2 people from Ukraine in 1 day but couchsurfing let it happen.
Centres d'intérêt
Definitely food. My appetite increased dramatically on 16 October 2010. I thought I had a tapeworm but it was actually just an inexplicable increase in hunger.
Museums, history, and nature are cool too. I like taking walks in the river valley in my city.
I like video games too. I don't necessarily like a certain genre but I do like games that are very stylistic. Examples: The Wonderful 101, DMC, Paper Mario TTYD

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Chill indies, synthpop, and j-rock are my main jams. Favourite bands of all time are Stars and High and Mighty Color. Others: Arcade Fire, Ra Ra Riot, Said the Whale but I like pretty much anything. Even country.
I like reading just about everything as long as it's written well.
I like bad movies. The worst movie is one that is simply mediocre because there's no real way to enjoy it. (Paul Blart Mall Cop is the worst movie ever.)
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Went to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun in Mexico.
I ate tacos out of a mystery RV in the Mexican desert. (They were the best tacos I've had in my life, if you were wondering. I think about them regularly.)
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
As a person who studies nutrition and foods I am more than happy to share my knowledge about it. It would be scientific but it's interesting stuff :)
It says I am learning Chinese but I've been speaking Cantonese at home my entire life. I can't read Chinese but if you ever want to practice for Hong Kong... ;P
