I always thought the best thing about traveling alone is that I end up meeting the most amazing people, every time, every where I go.

On one hand, I like my seclusion and my quiet and my routine. Change has a way of causing me intense distress. I need to know I have a 'nest' to come back to that is exactly how I left it. On the other hand, I am plagued with an incurable restlessness and addiction to all things new. I love culture shock and being lost and alone in a place I don't know.

Isn't it amazing how when you let go of expectations and control, the universe tends to throw some pretty spectacular things your way?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Long story short, the time is right!

The community and concept behind couchsurfing always appealed to me, and I've made my share of friends and crashed on a few couches in the past. I've wanted to be a part of the Couchsurfing network for years, but I never had a good space for hosting. Now I have a comfier-than-it-looks futon in a lovely little downtown apartment. I have money for food and shoes and even things that are silly like fancy candles and lime green eyeliner, so it's about time to really buckle down on this thing.

Besides, I have some travels coming up across the next couple years. Now is the perfect time!
