Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people. Staying in hotels seems so sterile and boring.
Being able to actually stay in a home gives one the feeling that they have truly experienced a place, a people.

We love hosting people...especially when our guests show up without notice!
I spend a lot of time reading with my kids. We also enjoy being outside and being active.

Music, Movies, and Books

We all love folk music. Every year our family attends the Mariposa Folk Festival. Its a highlight of our summer. We have a broad range of interest in books and movies. Mostly I like historical fiction, memoirs or anything based on true stories.
Of course a good comedy is always a win.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband and I were just in Pohnpei, Micronesia--a little island in the middle of no where. We had a great time exploring and meeting the locals. I also spent 10 days in Vietnam for my brothers wedding!!! What a wonder to experience other cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning. It is my passion to instill this same passion in my kids.
Fostering an environment where curiosity and wonder take precendence over answers is a contant. I also love to tell stories. Mostly I tell folktales but this past year I wrote and told two of my own.
