About Me
I've been a Mahayana Buddhist for 20 years and am on Pilgrimage through Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. Just came from 5 weeks in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India and wish to visit some not so popular touristic Buddhist site, areas of cultural interest in Sri Lanka before heading for a monastery to Meditate.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have lived and worked in many Asian countries and truly respect and enjoy cultural exchanges and experiences. Traveling as a regular tourist feels rather empty.
Two long time couch surfing friends recommended that I join. They have had wonderful CS experiences. So here I am.
Four years ago I was injured in car accident in Nepal and now travel with a slightly disabled back. I live a normal life, however, long day trips and heavy hiking are not an option for me.
I prefer to take it slow, enjoy the people and the surroundings of the country I am in. Visiting temples and holy sites. Enjoying the company of animals and nature; appreciating simplicity
Talking and sharing with persons national to my host country has always been the most beneficial experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I have extensive background in experiencing and living other cultures which can make for interesting conversation.
I've taught ESL advanced levels and can answer questions and provide clarifications.
Having survived a serious car accident, I have a real appreciation for life and all experiences that it brings. Both good and bad.
I have lots of personal experience with both allopathic and natural pathetic doctors. Just recently, I stayed at a homestay in Negombo where the owner was suffering from both gastritis and sciatica. He was surprised how they were connected. I gave advice on diet and medicines and even a resting pose for his sciatica. Helping others gives me much joy.
