About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"To enjoy and give enjoyment, without injury to yourself or others; this is true morality."
Nicolas Chamfort, French philosopher

ABOUT ME

Festive atmosphere sounds appealing as much as silence does.
I love to work and when I do I love to give without counting.
Sometimes it's about me, following a framework of personal growth being a considerable source of enjoyment.
With a tendency to absorb the best from the world through travelling, same goes with people I meet and with whom I am keen on sharing a whole range of slices of this amazing life.
I don't believe in patriotism nor in dogmas. I don't believe much in age either. I love to learn from all people, places and moments...
One amazing fact : I have been in London since 2006 -on and off since I often take off- and I still don't know who the British are. Intrigued by them all, women and men, kids and elderly... I'd love to meet what seems to be the most reserved human species.

PHILOSOPHY

Love is all around.
Let's enjoy.
Now and here.
Do anything you wish,
As long as it is your own wish,
And does not hurt anyone.
And if it does some good,
All the better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, being hosted... the most important bit to me is the magic there is behind such a simple thing as meeting human beings I connect with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I discovered couchsurfing through Ann, Swedish pen-pal and couchsurfer herself.
CS is not about saving money to me. It's about travelling more authentically by getting closer to the locals and connecting to them, and learning so much more through uplifting encounters.
Entering someone's nest while exploring the world and genuinely sharing stories with them while having a taste of their local produces, listening to their favourite music... or taking a walk to their favourite venues is priceless.
Same goes the other way around, hosting and sharing stories around the table is lovely.

Interests

The range is wide depending on the moment and state of mind : give me a little bit of all the world is made of and I'll be a happy camper.
I feel a real passion for languages, self-realization, teaching, learning, walking, sharing an uplifting conversation... sharing meals with intimate siblings, true friends and new faces.
I love watching films and listening to music although I keep away from TV. Reading the positive and constructive bits of local and international press in a quaint café while sipping on herbal teas on a Sunday morning can fill me with enthusiasm.
I embrace the four seasons for all they distinctively bring to us human beings, to our homes... and plates. Yes I indulge my foodie passion at home, anywhere... I find the magic triggered by a meal concocted with love fascinating.

Music, Movies, and Books

Whatever brings about spiritual renewal, leads me to laugh, cry, grow, doubt or question the undoubtable, makes my heart beat. No metaphor here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sharing some time with the Tzutuhiles in Santiago de Atitlán Guatemala during the war was a unique travel episode. Sleeping in the jungle of Petén close enough to the jaguars to hear them at night still creates an echo in my mind. Working and sleeping on a crocodile farm in South Africa was amazingly... stupid. And then to get closer to the present time I'd say walking St James Way from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Muxía was an amazing experience and pilgrimage… you may want to know I didn't walk over 900kms based on religious motivations. On a different note, being an orphan since October 2013 has made me look at Life with brand new eyes.

Teach, Learn, Share

Those three words sum up what I like most. Isn't sharing the key to teaching and learning?

What I Can Share with Hosts

It all depends who my hosts are and what they are up to but concocting and sharing a meal or two has always triggered the best conversations and therefore a good 'exploration' of who we are.

Sharing a meal is about sharing stories, music, passions, laughters, secrets. Sharing a meal at home is relaxing, we open up and often make plans to share outdoor adventures coz beyond home is all I came to see and indulge in...
