I'm from Western North Carolina, a rural mountainous region in the eastern United States. I've been to Boston, DC, different parts of Florida, a handful of other places in the States. I lived in Berea, Kentucky, my college town, for four years.

I studied abroad twice while in college: once on a magical three-week trip to Ireland, and again for a semester at the University of Winchester in England. I recently moved to Lusaka, Zambia with my husband for work.

I love cats.

I'm new to Couchsurfing, but some of my friends have recommended it to me as a great way to travel and meet new people.

Someday, once I'm somewhat settled in a place of my own, I want to host other Couchsurfers as well.

Movies: I don't watch movies often enough to say I have a preferred genre, but here are my favorites: Fight Club, Mr. Nobody, V for Vendetta, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, The Boy and the Beast

The BBC Sherlock series is my favorite show of all time.

Music: I like music, but I don't get to spend a lot of time discovering new music or going to concerts. I'm always eager to hear new artists and share music.

Books: I love talking about books almost as much as I love reading them. Happy to receive and give recommendations. I mostly read fiction, occasionally nonfiction. Margaret Atwood and Neil Gaiman are a couple of my favorite authors at the moment.
