ABOUT ME

I'm am a 31 year old girl from the Netherlands. I grew up here and lived for half a year in London during my studies. Right now I live in Amsterdam together with my boy-friend for 4 years. However, Amsterdam is not really the place I want to live. I love the city but not for living, it is just too crowded, I would like to live in a smaller city.
I love to travel but unfortunately I don't have enough time to do it. However, I will be finishing my Ph.D. in July 2009 and before I start a new job I took the opportunity to travel for 3.5 months. I have a lot of interest in other cultures, my most impressive travels were to Vietnam and Western-Canada. Hopefully a lot of interesting travels will come. During my travels I try to see as much as possible from a country, so I am not the person for late night in the disco or pub during my travels, but more the early bird to see as much as possible.
I like sports a lot, to do myself (field hockey, running) and to watch on TV.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this moment I unfortunately don't have a couch. I live in a very tiny place and for my Ph.D. I am working a lot at home. And from July I will be travelling myself for 3.5 months.
However, I always like to meet other people so I will definately have time for a cup of coffee and tell about my country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

5 years ago my boy-friend made a large trip through Canada and the USA. I have joined him for 4 weeks and using his account we did some couchsurfing. It was a really nice experience as you meet new people, you see other things than only the tourist stuff and it can work as a rollercoaster. Our hosts knew other people, phoned them and then we could stay there.
