COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

plenty of "informal" couch surfing living with friends in NYC, Seattle, VA, etc., and from touring with bands for years. Similar story in parts of Germany.

Done a lot of travel through Europe and China. Pretty strong understanding of economics and politics/power from growing up in D.C.

Practical stuff... Speak some German & Mandarin. I lived in the deep back country of Kings Canyon National Park in California for half a year for Americorps/National Park Service, and have some experience chasing bears (NPS requirement), building rock staircases, and I'm a certified Wilderness First Responder for medical emergencies.
