I'm a pretty happy person in general, especially if there is a garden or park in the vicinity because I love to be around plants! I also really dig live music and healthy living, mountains, and dogs. I work as a chef, but I like to think that you're more than just your job title so I try to express my passion for whole, natural foods and connection with the Earth in every aspect of my life.

I am big into some funk music (Fat Freddy's Drop), soul (Al Green, Bill Withers), folk (Ani DiFranco, Rising Appalachia), and underground hip hop (Atmosphere). My favorite movie is Wayne's World, and probably always always will be. As far as literature, I am mostly a big fantasy nerd (Douglas Adams, Clive Barker, etc), but I also have a long-standing obsession with Elizabeth I and the rest of the Tudor dynasty, so I also often find myself reading various historical autobiographies having to do with that topic.

One time I had this bet with my Captain that I wouldn't swim 100 meters away from the boat in the open sea with 7 miles of water beneath us. I totally won!
