About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a laid back, fun-loving kinda guy who enjoys connecting with just about anyone. Travel is one of my passions and so is meeting new people. I moved to South Korea in 2012 to be an English teacher and it was there that I started Couchsurfing for the first time. On my way back to the US I was able to travel to all the places I've wanted to go for so long: Nepal, India, Egypt, and Turkey. Love meeting new people from around the world! Now I'm back in Chicago, a city that I'm in love with and have lived in for nearly 30 years.
PHILOSOPHY
I’m a person of faith who believes in love and goodness. I believe in helping others and learning from others. I believe everyone's got a story to tell.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Equally excited about hosting and surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I didn't really become active on CS until I moved to Korea where I was able to host some great people in my small apartment up in the Taebaek mountains. I surfed for the first time while on my way back home to the US and met some wonderful hosts in India and Turkey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made the trek up to Everest Base Camp in the Nepalese Himalayas. Incredible.
Helped a family rebuild their home in Bogo City, Phillipines after a typhoon hit in 2013.
Stood inside one of the Great Pyramids in Giza, alone.
Paragliding in South Korea.
Ran the Chicago Marathon, twice.
Outside of all the travel experiences I've had, I'm probably most proud of the volunteer work I've done in Chicago.
Teach, Learn, Share
Although I'm originally from Texas, I've lived in Chicago for nearly 30 years and really love this city. I've played the tour guide many times for friends and family and can share my favorite places with you.
Unfortunately, I'm not a very good cook, but still trying to learn. :)
