ABOUT ME

hi i'm john. i've been kicking around for 30 years and i love to meet new people and experience as much as i can.  My bizzare sense of humour and random knowledge of useless things are both integral parts of me. As is my nomadic spirit and for the past few years i've been travelling and cycling around various parts of the world. Recently I cycled across France from Bilbao in Spain to Bonn in Germany. I'm very creative (artist, photographer, set builder, theatre goer, music lover extrodinaire) if you want to know anything else just ask!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I meet so many people in my travels some offer me a bed or a fantastic conversation, sometimes its passing directions but the random acts of kindness i experience and give encourages me to constantly advocate CS to those i meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i had a travelling journeyman come to stay a blacksmith from the German isle. We exchanged recipes and had a fantastic two weeks learning from each other.
Since travelling in Europe, Russia, Mongolia, and Asia i've met loads of fantastic people some on couch surfing some not. I've experienced the generosity of several people having surfed in beijing shanghai and seoul i hope to be in a position to host people soon! ill keep you posted.

Swimming in the waterfalls near Mostar youd think you were in Asia. the desert town of Goreme in Turkey it is truly beautiful here. went swimming in lake Baikal brrr and climbed hua and emei shan two of the sacred mountains in china.

I believe in learning all I can about any culture I visit and feel that I can better do this from someone who inhabits a place on a daily basis which is what i love about CS and something i don't always feel I get from hostels etc. At the same time I often find people are interested to learn about the place I come from and also the places i have visited.
