About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore every knook and cranny of this little blue dot that we call home. To expand my family to not just those that raised me but to all those friends, strangers, and travellers that have and will continue to help me learn about myself and our world.

ABOUT ME

Constantly on the move since I was born. I can't get enough of this world and the people on it. I had a shy and introverted phase but rediscovered my childhood sense of adventure and curiosity and, combined with my love of Carl Sagan, Feynman, Tyson, and all the other great thinkers that humble us, I now want to make the most of my life on our little blue planet. I study International Relations and Philosophy to learn about the world as it is and the world as it can be. I'm a student who takes his education seriously, both in school and in life.

PHILOSOPHY

When there are 6 billion people and countless other living creatures on a pale blue dot in a sea of void, the only place we know that has life, it humbles me. Additionally, I am the sum of all my experiences and relationships, positive or negative. Combining these two things have turned me to an "experience all, learn all, accept all" philosophy to life. I try to employ that as much as I can in my day to day life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first real exploration into CS. I have loved the idea of it since I heard about it a few years ago and only just recently made an account. I might consider volunteering my time for CS in the spring of next year if openings are available. I want to host people and build up my reputation but I need a permanent place to stay first as I'm hopping around all over the world at the moment. Hopefully I can surf at some places and meet some people in the meantime.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet! Hoping to get some soon.

Interests

Reading and learning. I devour so much information. A sponge when it comes to anything about different cultures, sciences, philosophies, traditions, people, histories. Anything and everything I can learn about in regards to this earth and this universe. I love to play soccer but I'm not very good so I passionately watch it instead. Food is huge for me and I will try any new cuisine you put my way. Other than that, I love stories and since I'm a terrible narrator, I love to listen to other people's stories instead.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Darjeeling Limited, In Bruges, Synechdoche New York, and The Fountain. Documentaries: Planet Earth, Life, Baraka, Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Journey to the Edge of the Universe, September Sessions. Music: Bob Marley (of course), Jimi Hendrix, Shpongle, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, Ravi Shankar, Camaron de la Isla, a wide range and variety but that should give you a taste. Books: War and Peace, Walden, Siddhartha, and the Death of Ivan Illyich have been key works in shaping who I am today. I have a huge library back in Texas and I love to read endless amounts of books in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's so hard for me to judge the most amazing thing I've seen or done so I'll put down the most amazing things I've seen and done recently and will keep updating as new things come along. Seen: The Crema of Las Fallas in Valencia. Done: Hiking in the mountains near Grazalema, España. One of the most peaceful moments of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can't take credit for this one but every once in a while put all your hangers in backwards so that the tip faces you. As you go through your clothes, you'll automatically correct the hangar. After a couple of weeks, those hangars that remain unchanged are the clothes that you should donate since you know that you don't really wear them anymore, even if you think you like them. I'd like to learn other cool, interesting things like that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Bahamas, Canada, India, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
