Overview
About Me
I consider myself a 61 years young "work in progress" as I do my “outside the box” business, work trade and couchsurfing adventures on Westport Island in Maine, US. I am obsessed with world, travel, and volunteering as much as I can . I am grateful for the three amazing sons blessed to me who are caring, compassionate and curious souls. As they say “it takes a village to raise a child” so recognize the impact of the special friends, mentors and acquaintances that have chimed in along the way. I have explored writing, wellness/alternative health care (an RN), mediation/conflict resolution, fundraising, and hosting on Airbnb in order to afford a quality of life beyond my wildest dreams. I love a good "cause" and have found myself drawn to sharing my passion for learning new things by teaching others about...cycling, skiing, cauliflower crust pizza, scrabble, Reiki, kombucha, mindfulness, green smoothies, foraging, bargain hunting and communication. My motto is "the journey IS the destination" and I continue to work to stay curious and present in my life to the moment I am in. My 3000 hospitality business guests and others who cross my path teach ME that the diversity of experience, ideas, preferences and priorities make life rich and full.
Even last week sitting at my star studded, evening nature sounds serenaded back yard camp fire, I was Reminded of the gifts of each interaction with people and how they shape my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to explore other "alternatives" to hotel and hostel staying in travel. I am looking for a less expensive option where I can reciprocate and offer a place at my house. I love the idea of opening my home to others, as I have with Airbnb for 4 years, and the relationships that happen for a moment and for a lifetime.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have committed to traveling twice a year and volunteering in other countries. I still balance care for elderly parents and the upcoming birth of my first grandchild as things that matter. The one amazing thing I have done is to bite my nails, disregard stereotypes and plunge headfirst into an exciting post 60 life! It only gets better
Teach, Learn, Share
I have worked with disadvantaged kids and my own in cycling and skiing/snowboarding. I love to teach new things to others and to see the connection, trust and mutuality that results. What will be share on my visit with you or yours with me?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a spirit of open mindedness, curiosity and kindness. I love when my guests come to my place and are so grateful for an opportunity to learn about me and my culture. I hope to bless hosts with that spirit too.
