I currently live in Topeka, KS. I moved to here in 2015 when the company I was working for in Indiana was acquired by a business in Topeka. I was only in Indiana for a little over a year. Prior to Indiana, I lived in Boise, Idaho. I grew up in northern Idaho.

I spent a semester of college in Uganda, and got to stay with a couple of host families during portions of my stay. I stayed with one family for a couple weeks in the town I studied in. I also spent a full week in rural Uganda with an extended family of twelve. We didn't have classes during that time so I spent the full week with them experiencing their daily lives (chores, cooking, sleeping in mud huts, long walks to get clean water, etc.). Though we didn't speak the same language, we still formed a bond. On my final night we had a bonfire, cooked a great meal, and had a dance party!
