About Me

Having now lived in 3 different cities, I have to say, Dallas has felt the most like home. I was born in Dsllas, raised in Hot Springs, AR , lived in Dallas from 2007-2018, then moved to LA for what felt like a dream gig with a multicultural agency . That didn't work out, but I was able to explore and enjoy LA for the past year and a half before deciding my heart is in the south with all of my friends, family and Whataburger. Lol

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm making the move back to Arkansas for a bit to kind of give myself some creative space to sit with. LA was a bit stressful for me, but we (me and my two dogs, Ser & Silver)will be making a weeklong pit stop in Dallas to visit friends before finishing the last leg of our trip to AR. Hot Springs is my hometown and I'll be renting this beautifully restored 4 bedroom Victorian that unfortunately won't be ready until December 1st. The plan is to launch my remote experiential agency, Mad Method, pursuing socially conscious brands and creating experiences that are as fun as they are impactful. There's also so much room for activism in Hot Springs. Marijuana was legalized there, but it's still highly inaccessible and unfairly so. I don't see myself settling in Hot Springs, but I do see it as a city I can build in so I can have the option to live wherever I'd like. Plus its historic downtown area is truly a gem.

Interests

I take interest in a wide variety of things. Depends on the day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Classic writers. John Steinback's East of Eden was one of my favorites. I was also super into historical fiction growing up, particularly stories that involve whole groups of people overcoming oppression. Movies: comedy, supernatural and psychological thrillers, indie films. Shows: Pose, Russian Doll, Easy, Walking Dead, Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, The Leftovers, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Last Man on Earth, Broad City, Idiot Sitter, Wayward Pines, Married, American Horror Story, You're the Worst, Modern Family, SNL, Shameless, Weeds, The Ozark, Black Mirror, Room 104, Insecure, Sharp Objects, The Handmaid's Tale Music: Folk, rock, R&B, rap, indie, decade hits, just no modern country, edm, or death metal. Food: I like a lot of flavor so Mexican or Latin cuisine in general, Southern, new American, Cajun, and Greek/Mediterranean.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to ride a camel and a 4 wheeler through the desert on the same day. The Global village in Dubai was my absolute favorite part though. It was my first time out of the country which still blows my mind. I was a poor kid from Arkansas so an experience like that was out of this world to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a professional designer so I've got all the Adobe CC tricks. I've also realized (and been told) I'm extremely easy to talk to due to my empathetic nature and willingness to lend an ear. I love to cook flavorful, nuanced meals as well so I don't mind sharing those things with others. I love cooking for people actually.
